Will The Wii Drown In "A Flood Of Crap"?

Don't hold back. It's unhealthy. Let it all out. Sega of America president Simon Jeffery may never be accused of being a puffy pants poet, but can be admired for his strong opinions on the current state of the Wii games library. "The Wii is a very cost effective platform to experiment with," said Jeffrey, "There is a lot of crap coming out for the Wii in general."
With Sonic at the Olympic games expected to sell 7 million copies by year end, you could argue that Jeffrey is qualified to speak on the matter.
He continued, "...If it’s not a good game, it doesn’t sell. That flood of crap will die down as publishers become more coherent."
He makes a valid point. According the The Edge, "the average of all Xbox 360 reviews cataloged on GameRankings turns out to be almost 70%. The same number for the PlayStation 3 is over 73% and for the Nintendo Wii ... a dismal 64%"
New titles coming through are pushing the console into a more accepted gaming territory as third party developers cannot help but dip into the goldmine and publish titles on the Wii. But these titles are usually aimed at what is perceived to be a younger audience, even though it has been found that average age is actually 29.
With the mess over the Wii MotionPlus fresh in everyones minds and the catch up work being done by Sony and possibly Microsoft, it looks as though the "flood of crap" will drown the Wii... What a way to go.
Footnote: There was a moment when considering the image to include... Well, you probably get the idea. The graph won hands down.
