THQ Lose A Vice President And $27.2 Million
October 7th 2008 12:37
There seems to be no end to the movements happening in the gaming industry at the moment. THQ is the next in line, with 27.2 million dollar losses and the announcement that Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios, has quit the company.
They say when a company is hitting hard times, the first to go are the middle managers, and Brian Farrell, president of THQ, sure makes Sorensen sound like one. "This reorganisation creates a more efficient management structure, aligning Roy, Danny and Steve as my direct reports," said Farrell. "I look forward to working directly with them to more expeditiously achieve our quality, predictability and profitability targets."
There is a plenty of ground to make up, with much of the companies hopes riding on the success of upcoming titles BAJA: Edge of Control, Saints Row 2, and WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2009.
This could be another make or break moment for yet another troubles developer.
