School Funds Wii Fit And DDR For Exercise (LINK)

The Consortium for Public Education in the US has bestowed a Great Idea Grants to local schools with the projects developed including a Wii Fit and Dance Dance Revolution setup.
The programme running in Brownsville Area High School is called "Wii: Get Up and Move," what they refer to as a "creative solution to the serious battle against obesity and to promote healthy physical activity."
They go on to say that "The program will utilize the interactive gaming system, Nintendo Wii, to increase students' stamina, agility, speed, hand/eye coordination and, most importantly, self-confidence."
Unfortunately, a recent study has shown that the larger amonst us are unlikely to lose this via video games, and as much as I love the idea of a school who can replace as much of its curriculum as possible with gaming, if you aren't good as dodgeball, you're unlikely to be picking up any points with the jocks by being able to bust out a perfect score on the Encore Extra Stage.
Still, it sounds better than the kits attending Marion Elementary School for "Duck Day". No more need be said.
