Nintendo DSi - Everything You Need To Know

October 3rd 2008 02:24

Nintendo DS vs DSi

What we need is a comprehensive summary of everything that the new Nintendo DSi will be, can be and yearns to become. Thanks to 1up, we have exacly that.

The lowdown includes the details on the extra camera, giving the all seeing DSi two.
Size wise, the Nintendo guys have shrunk the form factor, yet somehow squeezed in larger screens, taking the twin screens out to a 3.25 inch girth. While your busy admiring the looks and the looking at you the DSi will do, you can also now listen to your MP3 collection. And when you find that web browsing is also now included, you have a nifty unit that can download games and other content through you Wii points.

On the flipside, they may have shrunk the kid, but it means that the Gameboy Advance slot has had to fall off to accommodate. Be assured though that there're a high likelyhood that those games will appear through the store to download though. Ahh, nothing like buying the same game multiple times across all your platforms.

Available some time well into 2009, the much improved handheld sounds as though it will carry a pricetag somewhere in the vicinity of US$180. That's about US$50 more than the current model. I guess that's the price of progress... Fifty bucks.

For those that rather the feature length over the readers digest version, the full story can be found at 1up

It's funny! i knew a guy who when the ds and psp first came out was all like 'why would i buy a psp? i want to play games not listen to music and watch movies why would i need that?' now nintendo come out with a ds that can play mp3s and surf the web... maybe they will get movie functionality later!!!

really i hope all fanboys weren't like that at the start...

I heard that it can play AAC formats... not MP3. (See n4g.com) Is that true?
