LittleBigPlanet Not Possible On Xbox360 Without Changes
September 10th 2008 22:55
Sackboy could ony ever have one love, according to Media Molecule head honcho Alex Evans. And as much as Xbox owners stare on with heavy hearts, LittleBigPlanet "as it is" could not work on Xbox 360 as the game was only ever developed with one system in mind.
Having said that, it is possible, if changes were made, that LBP could still cross over, "So yes, you could make this game on the 360, but it'd be a different game," Evans reassured.
Keep those words in mind fanboys, nobody is saying that it couldn't be done at all, they are stating that it was designed knowing a Blu-ray drive and hard drive were available in every system. Evans explains, "The 360 is an incredibly capable machine, and you could make a user-generated content game on it, no question - just as you could make one on the PS2 or the Mega Drive, or any platform," adding, "But because we picked our platform, you go and you use every available bit of space, every little processor cycle."
The main difference is that LBP squeezes the last megabyte out of the Blu-ray disk, jamming in 40GB odd of content.
LittleBigPlanet is due out exclusively for PlayStation 3 on 31st October.
