Id Software Blasts Apple Over Attitude to Gaming

Id Software technical director John Carmack has given a world class rant during his QuakeCon keynote, blasting Steve Jobs and Apple over their attitude to gaming, "something they don't really believe in."
Carmack believes that Apple doesn't "deeply get" gaming, due mostly to Apple's CEO.
"It's difficult to ask somebody to get behind something they don't really believe in. I mean obviously he believes in the music and the iTunes and that whole side of things, and the media side of things, and he gets it and he pushes it and they do wonderful things with that, but he's not a gamer. That's just the bottom line about it."
Id software currently have Doom RPG and a series called Orcs and Elves for mobile devices and Quake III: Arena, Quake 3:Gold and Hexen available for the Mac. And judging from the above spray directed at Jobs, it's destined to stay that way.
