Problem Playing Locomotion on Windows 7

Here's a great tip I've found on the Transport Tycoon Forum for when game screen colors get all messed up. *Note this following tip is only for windows, but works perfectly!
1) Open task manager
2 )End explorer.exe (yes taskbar and windows will go away)
3) Run and play locomotion, all should be normal
4) Restart explorer.exe with run or task manager (when finished playing)
