Age Of Conan To Hit Xbox 360 With MMO Goodness
September 3rd 2008 23:16
After the slew of MMO's announced for the PS3, Xbox 360 fans have at last something to raise their swords in the air and scream "By Crom!" about, with the news that Age Of Conan is definitely hitting the console.
"The Xbox 360 version is still very much set to happen and we are working on it," said Erling Ellingsen, head honcho at Funcom.
As to when it shall arrive, Ellingsen says "However, there are no dates set, even though we aim for a 2009 release. Our big priority now is, of course, the PC version and fixing the issues with it and improving it for our current players."
Good numbers for AOC so far have put aside the initial fears that Funcom would not be able to support the MMO. With a patch is already available and further work is being done in the form of a PvP rewards patch, things are looking solid.
Attempts have been made in the past through the Final Fantasy series, but that never hit any earth shattering heights. And earlier, a superhero themed MMO was cancelled, leaving 360 gamers wondering if we would ever get any tasty MMO action. Recent games such as Left 4 Dead will have dedicated servers, and AOC would have to be in the same situation. Perhaps this is why we are finally getting something?
Much thanks to Eurogamer for the info.
