A New Mob in Minecraft, Wolfs!

Notch and his development team have been working on a new mob! Wolfs! Wolfs are going to be added to Minecraft soon. And even though they'll be rare to find, they can be tamed and will follow you around like a pet. Plus Notch talked about a new achievement and stat system being introduced soon too.
*Update: 3/31; The new update has been released & includes these updates:
* Added tameable wolves
* Added cookies
* Sleeping in a bed now resets your spawn position
* New Minecraft logo
* Holding shift while climbing will hang on to the ladder
* Spiders will no longer trample crops
* Lots and lots of infrastructure for Statistics lists and Achievements
